ABOUT US

The United Steelworkers Local 550 found its beginnings in January of 1953 under the then-name of the Oil, Chemical & Atomic Workers International Union AFL-CIO at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. By January of 1999, OCAW would be merged with the Paper, Allied-Industrial, Chemical and Energy Workers International Union (PACE), to then merge with the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and ServiceWorker’s International Union (USW) on April 14th, 2005.
